Rocket Fire Drum Feet
Turn an Old Drum Into the Centre piece of Your Backyard, for BBQ or event.
There’s something timeless about sitting around a crackling fire with family and mates. Whether it's a cold winter afternoon, backyard BBQ, camping weekend or outdoor event, our Rocket Fire Drum Feet make it incredibly easy to build a safe, stable and great-looking fire drum in under an hour.
All you need is a used 200L (44 Gallon) steel drum. Do not use galvanized drums.
Simply:
- Cut the lid out to create one large fire drum, or cut the drum in half to make two fire drums.
- Weld the Rocket Fire Drum Feet evenly around the base at 120 degrees.
- Use a 2.5" or 3" hole saw to drill three air holes in the bottom of the drum.
That's it. You're ready to light your first fire.
Designed for Better Performance
Unlike a drum sitting directly on the ground, the raised design offers several important benefits.
Improved Airflow
The ventilation holes allow fresh air to enter beneath the fire, helping the wood burn hotter, cleaner and with much less smoke.
Contains Hot Coals
Positioning the air holes inbound in the base of the drum helps prevent hot embers and burning coals from falling onto the ground away from the drum where they could burn feet, shoes or surrounding grass.
Reduced Ground Heat
The raised feet lift the drum clear of the ground, reducing heat transfer to the surface below and helping minimize ground scorching.
Exceptional Stability
Our feet extend wider than the drum itself, creating a much larger footprint that significantly reduces the chance of the fire drum tipping over.
What is in the box:
3 x steel Rocket Drum feet
Built Tough
Manufactured from heavy-duty steel, these feet are designed to withstand months of outdoor use and repeated heating and cooling cycles. To make sure your fire drum lasts longer, be sure to clean out old ash after use, this will reduce corrosion of the drum.
A well serviced fire drum will typically last 18-36 months, depending use and outside conditions.
Simply weld them on once and enjoy countless nights around the fire.
Perfect for:
- Backyard entertaining
- BBQs
- Winter evenings
- Camping properties
- Acreages
- Outdoor events
- Farm and shed gatherings
Welding:
- Mark the feet at 120 degrees apart with a large paint pen line, on a standard 200L drum, that is 607mm apart on the circumference. Measure your drum FIRST, if is 580mm across the diameter you are good to continue, you need to confirm these measurements are accurate for your drum.
- use a sanding disc to remove excess paint to where the welding sites will occur.
- align the feet to be 90 degrees to the ground, and spot weld all 3 feet into place, and re-check your measurements. Also check all the feet are sitting flat on the work surface.
- Weld the side of the drum to the foot, then weld the the bottom of the drum to the foot.
- Once cool, you can spray paint with hi-temp paint.
Safety
Rocket Fire Drums are an open flame product and should always be used responsibly.
- Use only on flat, stable, non-combustible surfaces.
- Keep clear of buildings, trees and flammable materials.
- Never leave a fire unattended.
- Adult supervision is required at all times.
- Follow all local fire restrictions and total fire bans.
Give an old drum a new purpose and create an impressive backyard fire pit that friends and family will gather around for years to come.
