RB25 Block
Install the bung as supplied for direct use in RB25 builds.
RB25-30 Conversion
For RB25 head to RB30 block conversions, the bung includes a hidden pre-pilot drilled oil feed path.
To activate VCT oil feed:
- Use a 3mm to 5mm drill bit
- Drill into the end of the plugs datum mark.
- Drill depth: approximately 1.5–2mm
- Use the datum mark as your guide
This uncovers the internal pilot-drilled port and enables proper VCT function on RB30 blocks.
Installation
- Place the bung in the freezer for 15–25 minutes
- Apply a thin smear of retaining compound to the threaded end of the plug
- Insert into the head for a secure fit
